ADAPT student Zachary Brunson was awarded the 2021 SMD JOM Best Paper Award at the TMS-AIME awards ceremony. This award recognizes the author(s) for excellence of a paper published in the preceding year’s volume of JOM under a structural materials related technical topic.
Papers are selected by JOM SMD Advisors and Guest Editors, then recipient determined by SMD Award Committee.
Zach’s paper is titled “An Expanded Martensite Variant Selection Theory Accounting for Transformation Rotations and Applied Stress Field: Predictions of Variant Clusters in Titanium.” Co-authors include Adam L. Pilchak, Satish Rao, Eric J. Payton and Aaron P. Stebner.
